Lucasfilm registers handful of ‘Star Wars: Identities’ domain names [UPDATED]

Star Wars: Identities

This week, Lucasfilm registered a handful of domain names hinting at something new on the way for the Star Wars franchise called ‘Star Wars: Identities’.

Three domain names were registered on November 7th through Corporation Service Company, a brand protection service: StarWarsIdentities.com, StarWarsIdentites.com (typo) and sw-id.com.

No information has been released on ‘Star Wars: Identities’ by Lucasfilm as of yet.

Though it’s a stretch to speculate that ‘Star Wars: Identities’ could be a new film in a sequel trilogy, George Lucas has long denied plans of making Episodes VII, VIII and IX.

Could ‘Star Wars: Identities’ be slated for an animated series, DVD, or video game?

‘Star Wars: Identities’ sounds interesting, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see for Lucasfilm to comment.

Here’s a look at the WHOIS record for StarWarsIdentities.com.

[Updated on Nov. 21:. Star Wars Identities will be an exhibition.  The news was announced earlier today via Canada Newswire.  “For thirty-five years, audiences around the world have followed the adventures of Luke and Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi heroes of a galaxy far, far away. And now, a new exciting exhibition comes to our own galaxy with STAR WARSTM Identities, a redefined modern exhibition experience in which we will rediscover the unforgettable characters of Star Wars in a whole new way. From the team that brought you Indiana JonesTM and the Adventure of Archaeology, this new innovative exhibition, made possible by Lucasfilm Ltd. and produced by Montreal’s X3 Productions, will make use of an extensive collection from the Lucasfilm Archives to explore the sciences of identity through the characters of Star Wars. The world premiere of this exhibition will be held at the Montréal Science Centre, starting on April 19, 2012.”]
