While Google regularly acquires domain names with ‘Google’ in them, the company occasionally purchases other domains that have no direct tie to the company’s products.
That’s what happened earlier this month when OneWorldManyStories.com changed owners from the magical ventriloquist Steve Taylor to the search engine giant Google Inc.
Google hasn’t announced any plans for the web address, but it already has plenty of names it owns that sit unused. So this is yet another domain that may end up collecting dust.
For those of you wondering who Steve Taylor is, he’s a magical ventriloquist who helps motivate young people to read and hosts The “One World – Many Stories” Magic & Ventriloquism Show! with Rudy O’Riley. According to Steve’s website found at stevetaylorpro.com, he has been performing since the age of twelve and his summer shows have been sold out for the past fifteen years.
It appears the domain name may have expired, and then was acquired by Google through MarkMonitor. I’ve reached out to Steve Taylor to find out more information.
Here’s a look at the updated Whois record.
