Last week Electronic Arts said it planned to host third-party content on Origin, its direct download service that lets you purchase and play EA games. The move would better position Origin to compete with services like Steam that offer third party titles.
While no word on titles or availability has been given, Electronic Arts has registered the domain name origin-api.com, in a possible move to release something like a Steamworks API, to help developers with developing and publishing a game or mod on Origin.
Origin-api.com was registered on Friday, September 16, 2011 and doesn’t resolve to a web site at the time of this posting.
