Electronic Arts files trademark applications for ‘Prison Kings’

Prison Kings trademark

Electronic Arts is up to something when it comes to online games.

The game publisher filed two trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on October 10 for the term “Prison Kings”.

Serial Number: 85443304 covers, “Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game; Provision of information relating to electronic computer games provided via the Internet.”  Serial Number: 85443315 covers, “Computer game software; Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices.”

“Prison Kings” follows recent trademark filings for Style Empire, Fly with Me and Road Trippin’.

EA files Style Empire trademark, fashion or interior design game on the way?

Style Empire

This week Electronic Arts has filed yet another trademark application for an unreleased game called “Style Empire”.

With The Sims Social now on Facebook as the No. 2 most popular game behind Cityville, and over 60 million monthly active users according to AppData, it wouldn’t be surprising to see EA expand its library of games that allow users to design interiors or create their own fashion.

It’s possible Style Empire could be for a different type of game as well, but as of today, nothing is official, because there has been no news announced by EA.

EA does not own the web address StyleEmpire.com.  StyleEmpire.com is currently an online retail site that sells designer merchandise.

Here’s a look at the two trademarks filed on September 26, 2011.

Serial Number 85431706: Computer game software; Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices

Serial Number 85431709: Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game; Provision of information relating to electronic computer games provided via the Internet

Electronic Arts files trademarks for ‘Fly with Me’, new video game in the works?

Electronic Arts Redwood Shores

Electronic Arts appears to be working on a new game called “Fly with Me” according to two recent trademark filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

On September 14, 2011, Electronic Arts Inc. filed both applications that cover “Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game” and “Downloadable computer game software”.

Will Fly with Me be a sports game? A flying game? A Facebook game?  I haven’t found anything online about a new game in the works, but I suspect more information will be put out by EA shortly.

Here’s a quick look at each of the trademark applications.

Serial Number: 85422630: Computer game software; Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices

Serial Number 85422635: Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game; Provision of information relating to electronic computer games provided via the Internet

Electronic Arts files trademark applications for Road Trippin’

NBA Jam On Fire Edition

Electronic Arts Inc filed two trademark applications for Road Trippin’ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on August 30, 2011.

The trademark filings (serial numbers 85410328 and 85410322) deal with computer game software and entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game.

While no information has been given publicly by EA in regards to what the plans are for Road Trippin’, one would guess that it has to do with a sports game considering the phrase “road tripping” is used to describe the trips taken by sports teams to play away games.

In October, EA is planning to release the downloadable game NBA Jam: On Fire Edition.

One of the features offered in NBA Jam: On Fire Edition is the game mode “Road Trip” that allows you to play all the NBA teams.  In addition to the game mode, there is also an in-game chievement on the Xbox called “Road Trippin” that you can aim for if you complete the road trip.

Mattel actually has an active trademark on Road Trippin’ (serial number 78681197) dating back to 2005 that has to do with toys, games and playthings, namely, handheld unit for playing electronic games.

Here’s a closer look at the EA filings.

What’s in store for EA’s newest registration: CentipipeIndustries.com?

Electronic Arts Redwood Shores

Electronic Arts Inc registered two new domain names that have never been registered before on August 3.

The names may seem a bit odd, since video game titles are usually a little more intuitive.

Whatever the case, EA registered CentipipeIndustries.com and Centipipe-Industries.com this past Wednesday.
