Electronic Arts files trademark applications for ‘Prison Kings’

Electronic Arts is up to something when it comes to online games.

The game publisher filed two trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on October 10 for the term “Prison Kings”. 

Serial Number: 85443304 covers, “Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game; Provision of information relating to electronic computer games provided via the Internet.”  Serial Number: 85443315 covers, “Computer game software; Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices.”

“Prison Kings” follows recent trademark filings for Style Empire, Fly with Me and Road Trippin’.

Motorola registers Dreampix domain names, files Dreamshot trademark

Motorola Launch Event Invite

With the next big Motorola launch event only days away, the company has filed a new trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and registered a handful of new domain names.

On October 6, 2011, Motorola filed a trademark (Serial Number: 85440597) for “Dreamshot”.  The goods and services cover software for mobile phones, mobile computers and mobile devices for image enhancements.

Then on October 11, Motorola registered five new “dreampix” domain names like MotorolaDreampix.com through Corporation Service Company, the same brand protection service it uses for motorola.com.

The domain registrations include DreampixMotorola.com, Moto-Dreampix.com, MotoDreampix.com, Motorola-Dreampix.com and MotorolaDreampix.com.

HTC trademarks hint at incentive, reward programs for software developers

It appears that HTC is launching an honors program intended to recognize excellence in the field of technology software development and provide incentive awards in order to promote the development of computer software and applications. 

The program names are “HTC Honors” and “HTC Top Honors” according to four trademark applications filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on September 23, 2011.

Electronic Arts files trademarks for ‘Fly with Me’, new video game in the works?

Electronic Arts appears to be working on a new game called “Fly with Me” according to two recent trademark filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

On September 14, 2011, Electronic Arts Inc. filed both applications that cover “Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game” and “Downloadable computer game software”.

Will Fly with Me be a sports game? A flying game? A Facebook game?  I haven’t found anything online about a new game in the works, but I suspect more information will be put out by EA shortly.

Apple files three iMessage trademarks, in wake of iChat integration rumors

Last week tech blogs speculated that Apple was building in iMessage support into OS X Lion’s iChat instant messaging software, after a developer revealed to Mac Rumors a code string with two new properties: timeDelivered and timeRead.

On the same day the news broke on September 14, Apple filed three different trademark applications for iMessage with the United States Patent and Trademark Office that may be able to offer more insight into the plans for iMessage.
